Mr. Jyothish Bhai, a research scholar from EIU-Paris had a remarkable success at the 8th ITF Taekwondo World Cup held in the city of Koper, Slovenia, bagging a Gold medal for Patterns winning the World Cup Champion title and a Silver medal for Sparring in the 36-46 years category.
Jyothish Bhai hails from Trivandrum, the capital city of Kerala, India. He moved to England, United Kingdom in the year 2013 for work where he got introduced to Taekwondo, the Korean millitary martial art. He joined his first club, Cambridge Taekwondo in 2018 and since then he had been training hard. He started training under the guidance of Mrs. Mirfet Hassan Spiller and Mr. David Spiller. Four years of dedication and hard work and his achievements at several national and international championships winning medals in patterns, sparring and destruction, got him selected to compete at the World Cup.

His dedication and indomitable spirit got him selected to compete at the 8th ITF Taekwondo World Cup 2022 which happened in Slovenia from 1-8th October 2022 where he again showed his exceptional performance and became the World Cup Champion with gold for patterns and silver for sparring in the 36-46 years category.

Jyothish earned his degrees at Amrita Vishwa Vidyapeetham and comes with experiences from well known institutes and organisations like Indian Institute of Technology Bombay, Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute and European Bioinformatics Institute and currently our research scholar at the EIU.
