For Dr. Shaela Anjum, returning to academic study marked a new chapter in a professional journey already spanning 18 years in the construction sector. With a background in civil engineering and postgraduate business education, she brought extensive industry experience in planning, project management, and cost management into this next stage of her professional development.
Currently serving as Deputy General Manager – Planning and Cost Control at ABIL Group, Dr. Anjum undertook and completed the Professional Doctorate in International Business at EIU-Paris, bringing years of professional responsibility into a renewed period of research and academic development.
Returning to Research
Her doctoral journey provided an opportunity to re-engage with academic research while building upon her professional experience. The journey included learning experiences, smaller victories, and moments of uncertainty. Through these experiences, she came to reflect on how growth can emerge through challenge and how the research process itself can become an important part of academic development.
