Passion for Education
Being an educator represents a meaningful challenge. On one hand, it is necessary to have a fundamental command over the areas that will be taught to students, and on the other hand, it is essential to have the passion to transmit this knowledge to others. The educator’s task goes even further as he or she must demonstrate expertise and academic achievements on his or her resumé.
Who counts the hours of class preparation? Who understands how difficult it can be to bring work to one’s home? And who values the hours dedicated to continuing education to improve as a teacher? Although there are not many who fall into that “who,” good teachers continue to give their best to motivate, teach, and inspire people around the world.
Furthermore, in the academic world there are those who juggle and balance their time between administrative, teaching, and research activities. That is why we should highlight the work of teachers who strive to give their time to all of these elements.
“From Passion & Psyd. to PhD: Dr. Gabriel Lopes’ Journey”
Such is the case of Dr. Gabriel Cesar Dias Lopes. His passion for education has taken him so far that he has two doctorates and founded UniLogos, a distance learning higher education institution for the Portuguese-speaking world. For him, “our greatest dream is to build new dreams and create the possibility of expanding self-pride in the heart of those who achieve their ideal, their way of life, their dream and their success.”
A multidisciplinary at EIU-Paris
An element of a modern educator is his multidisciplinary passion. Dr Gabriel holds many college qualifications to his name, including a Doctorate of Psychology (PsyD) and a Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) in Education from the European International University, Paris. The achievement attests to a relevant dedication to becoming into a multidisciplinary professional.

After earning his PsyD at the EIU-Paris by the end of 2022, Dr Gabriel was admitted to the American Psychological Association (APA), which is by far the most prestigious global body in this field. He did so by defending the thesis “Bipolarity: From the difficulties of diagnosis to the possibilities of psychoanalytic treatment”. This demonstrates the quality and projection of the degrees obtained at this alma mater.
Driven by Passion: Dr. Gabriel Lopes’ Academic Pursuit
Being someone who has worked in the education sector, as President of UniLogos, it was also part of his aspirations to pursue a PhD in Education. This incredible journey ended in February 2024 when he managed to meet the graduation requirements. The satisfaction is enormous since both the PsyD and the PhD have been officially recognized by the Brazilian Ministry of Education and the Plataforma Carolina Bori do Governo Federal do Brasil.
This outstanding alumnus has said that “I completed my PhD at EIU with great success, and I am extremely satisfied with the academic, research and support experience I received throughout the course. It is important to highlight that my diploma is valid throughout Brazil, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, which attests to the legitimacy and excellence of the program. This national recognition is a testament to the high quality of EIU’s programmes.”
Relevance of distance education and doctoral research
For Dr. Gabriel Lopes, education represents an opportunity for personal growth and development that very few other things in life can provide.
